Disability Access & Accommodations

Stanford University is committed to ensuring its facilities, programs and services are accessible to everyone. A variety of resources are available for guests with disabilities and/or those needing additional support/assistance to participate in Family Weekend activities. 

Disability-related accommodations and information can be requested during the registration process.

Wheelchair Rentals and Additional Accessibility Resources

Please note that wheelchairs and other assistive devices are not available on-site during Family Weekend. If you or a family member requires a mobility device, we encourage you to make arrangements in advance. The following resources can assist you:

Limited Accessible Parking

Limited accessible parking is available in the Galvez Lot and Track House Lot. Individuals with a state-issued disability parking placard or plate (from any state) displayed in their vehicle may park in the following spaces on campus:

  • Designated blue disabled-access spaces
  • Commuter (‘A’, ‘C’, ‘Z’, etc.) and residential permit spaces (‘ES’, ‘EA’, etc.)
  • Visitor paid parking spaces
  • Service vehicle spaces
  • Must observe posted signs & time limits

Shuttles and Golf Carts

All Marguerite shuttles are wheelchair accessible, free, and open to the public – no ID required. A special Family Weekend Marguerite runs in a continuous loop of campus on Friday and Saturday during the event. Shuttle times and stops are available on the Plan Your Visit page.

Family Weekend attendees with limited mobility may request a golf cart shuttle to and from event venues. Schedule and request details will be available closer to the weekend

  • Available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Limited capacity
  • May be a long wait time

In some instances, it may be beneficial to park closer to the venue where activities are occurring. 

Personal golf carts are not permitted on campus.

Service and Support Animals

Please note that the university restricts pets and emotional support animals from public spaces on campus, with the exception of service animals that are specifically trained to perform a service and/or task for an individual with a disability.

Restricted areas include dining areas, athletic venues, performances spaces, etc.
