Last chance for registration to attend Family Weekend!
Dear Stanford Families,
We have a busy weekend planned, with a range of opportunities for spending time with your undergraduate students and learning more about life on campus. Residence hall receptions and community center open houses, academic and special-topic discussions, self-guided tours and the resource fair are among the many options awaiting you on the Farm. We have some updates regarding our programs and a new event to share with you.
We’ve recently added academic lectures on Saturday including talks by Ge Wang, Michael Snyder, Rodolfo Dirzo and Lynn Hildemann, and Larry Diamond. Visit the Family Weekend website to check out the full range of programs and updates. And – if you haven’t already – please be sure to register by the Friday, February 10 deadline.
The welcome event with President Marc Tessier-Lavigne and Provost Persis Drell will officially begin Family Weekend on Friday morning, Feb. 24. They will be joined for a conversation with Sarah Church, vice provost for undergraduate education, and Samuel Santos Jr., our new associate vice provost of inclusion, community and integrative learning. Vice Provost for Student Affairs Susie Brubaker-Cole will serve as moderator. The welcome will be in Memorial Auditorium, with overflow satellite viewing locations around campus (see your registration add-on ticket for your viewing location). The event will be livestreamed and recorded for viewing online as well.
We are also excited to invite you to attend a special student event on Saturday afternoon: The Student Winter Showcase! Join the Office of Student Engagement in a celebration of our student organizations. This event – the first of its kind at Family Weekend – is a special Stanford-style student street fair with live music and entertainment, food vendors, photo booth, lawn games, and more. Don’t miss the kick off in White Plaza at 2:00 p.m., when the Leland Stanford, Jr. University Marching Band will help you get in that “All Right Now” mood!

Attendance at Family Weekend is free, but advance online registration is required – on-site, day-of registration will not be available. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on Friday, February 10. Please be sure to check that you have not already registered before completing your registration, to help us avoid duplication.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on the Farm!
Sincerely,
Stanford Family Weekend Planning Team
