Stanford Family Weekend: What to know before you arrive!
Dear Stanford Families,
Family Weekend is almost here! Below are important details to prepare for your visit and make the most of your time on campus.
Family Weekend Mobile App 📱
The Family Weekend mobile app is the easiest way to view the schedule, access the campus map, and receive real-time updates during the weekend.
You can also view the full schedule using the web version—no app or login required.
Login is only required if you choose to personalize your schedule or use community features. However, each guest must register with a unique email address to use these features.
Please note: Adding an event to your app schedule does not guarantee seating. See the FAQs for help updating guest emails.
Parking 🅿️
General parking:
Family Weekend parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis without any additional permit or payment in the Galvez Lot, Track House Lot, and Varsity/Sunken Diamond Lot. Additional parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis without any additional permit or payment in the Maples Pavilion Lot, Knight Management Center Garage, and Roth Way Garage.

Most campus parking is free after 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Parking will be free all day Saturday and Sunday unless otherwise designated on campus streets and lots.
Accessible parking:
Limited accessible parking is available in the Galvez Lot and Track House Lot. Individuals with state-issued disability plates or placards from any state may park in designated blue disabled-access spaces, and commuter, residential, visitor pay, or service vehicle spaces on campus. No additional permit or payment is required.

Important: Name badges are required for entry to all Family Weekend events, residence halls, and dining locations. All attendees must check in to receive their badge. Family Weekend brochures with maps are available at check-in.
Enjoy light food and beverages, including grab-and-go, at check-in.
Weather & What to Bring 🌦️🎒
Expect moderate temperatures with cool mornings and evenings. We recommend dressing in layers, bringing a light rain jacket or umbrella, and wearing comfortable walking shoes.
Event Seating & Attendance Tips 🎟️
- Family Weekend name badges are required for entry to all programs.
- Arrive early for popular sessions.
- Seating is first-come, first-served. (Note: including an event on your app schedule does not guarantee seating.)
- Please, no saving seats.
- Note: Paid tickets may be required for some arts performances, tours, and sports events that are not official Family Weekend events.
Shuttle & Accessibility 🚍
Free Marguerite shuttle:
A special Family Weekend route runs a loop along Campus Drive and Jane Stanford Way from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Buses are wheelchair-accessible and have bike racks. Click here for a map and details.
Golf cart service for guests with limited-mobility:
Available Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with the last pickup at 4:00 p.m. First-come, first-served—wait times may vary. Call (650) 736-9018 to request a pick-up.
