Top 5 FAQs
What is Family Weekend?
Family Weekend is an annual university event to provide families of current undergraduate students a glimpse into their student’s life and experience at Stanford. Family Weekend is open to parents and families of currently enrolled Stanford undergraduate students in all four class years.
Does my family need to register to participate?
Yes. Online registration is required for all those who plan to visit the campus, attend events, and visit buildings in-person for Family Weekend. There will be no on-site, walk-up, day-of registration available. If you do not plan to attend in person, you do not need to register.
Can I register on-site?
Unfortunately, due to venue capacities and event planning logistical needs around dining and venue capacity, on-site registration is not available for Family Weekend. We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us plan for a successful weekend experience for all who plan to attend the weekend in-person.
Is there a cost to attend?
There is no cost to participate in Family Weekend activities, and most campus attractions are free, however there may be other events happening on campus during the weekend that require tickets to be purchased, such as athletic events and arts performances.
How can I be added to the email list to receive Family Weekend communications?
Parents and guardians listed as contacts for currently enrolled undergraduate students are automatically included on our email list, unless they have opted out of email notifications from the university. Therefore, most individuals do not need to take any action to receive communications. Should you still not be receiving communications, please first check your spam or junk folder, then send an email to mykidis@stanford.edu and ask to be added.
